TERMS OF USE — wachartersaction.org
Last Updated: August 18, 2026

1. Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using this website (the “Site”), operated by WA Charters Action (“we” or “us”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use (“Terms”). If you do not agree, please do not use the Site. We may update these Terms from time to time; your continued use of the Site after changes are posted means you accept the revised Terms.

2. Privacy

Please review our Privacy Policy, which also governs your use of the Site.

3. Use of the Site

Subject to your compliance with these Terms, WA Charters Action grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the Site for personal, non-commercial purposes — such as learning about our advocacy work, registering for events, contacting your legislator, or making a contribution. This license doesn’t include the right to reproduce, resell, or create derivative works from the Site without our prior written permission.

4. Submissions and Feedback

If you submit comments, testimonials, petition signatures, or other content through the Site (“Submissions”), you confirm that your Submissions are accurate and that you have the right to share them. You grant WA Charters Action a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to use, reproduce, and publish your Submissions in our advocacy and communications work, unless you tell us otherwise. When you sign a petition or advocacy letter, your name, city, and comments may be treated as public and shared with legislators, the press, or the public, without your email address. You’re responsible for the content of anything you submit.

5. Prohibited Uses

You agree not to:

Use the Site for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms
Submit false or fraudulent information in connection with any advocacy, petition, or election-related activity conducted through the Site
Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Site, our systems, or other users’ information
Use bots, scrapers, or other automated means to access or collect data from the Site without our permission
Interfere with or disrupt the Site’s functionality, servers, or networks
Impersonate any person or misrepresent your affiliation with WA Charters Action
Upload viruses, malware, or other harmful code
Use the Site to harass, threaten, or defame any person

6. Third-Party Content and Links

The Site may link to third-party websites or include third-party content. WA Charters Action doesn’t control and isn’t responsible for the content, accuracy, or privacy practices of any third-party site. A link doesn’t imply our endorsement.

7. Intellectual Property

The Site and its content are owned by WA Charters Action or our licensors and protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. “WA Charters Action” and our logo are our trademarks. You may not use our name, logo, or branding without prior written permission. If you believe content on the Site infringes your copyright, contact us at info@wachartersaction.org with details.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Site is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, WA Charters Action and its officers, directors, employees, and volunteers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Site.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold WA Charters Action harmless from claims, damages, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising from your violation of these Terms or misuse of the Site.

11. Text Messaging (SMS) Program Terms

By providing your mobile phone number and opting in, you consent to receive recurring text messages from WA Charters Action — including advocacy alerts, legislative updates, event reminders, and fundraising messages — sent using an automatic telephone dialing system or similar technology, to the number you provided. Consent to receive texts is not a condition of any contribution or purchase.

Cost: Message and data rates may apply. Check with your carrier for details.
Frequency: Message frequency varies. We may change how often we send messages, or the number we send from, at any time.
Cancellation: Text STOP to any message to opt out at any time. You may receive one final confirmation message. If you’re subscribed through multiple programs or numbers, you’ll need to text STOP to each separately.
Help: Text HELP or email info@wachartersaction.org for support. Texting HELP does not opt you out — you must text STOP to unsubscribe.
Carrier disclaimer: Not all mobile devices or carriers are supported, and we’re not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
Privacy: Your phone number and opt-in consent will not be shared with third parties for their own marketing purposes. See our Privacy Policy for how we handle your information generally.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Washington State.

13. Changes to These Terms; Termination

We may modify these Terms, or suspend or terminate access to the Site, at any time, with or without notice.

14. Severability and Entire Agreement

If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest remain in effect. These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and WA Charters Action regarding the Site.
